Three Generations, One Credit Union: Michaela’s Story
For Michaela Erb and her family, Vantage Credit Union is more than just a place to bank—it’s part of their family legacy.
"My mom became a member back in 1981 when a Vantage representative visited her school. It was a credit union for educators then, and she signed up on the spot," Michaela shared. "That connection stuck with us."
Now a mother of two, Michaela is continuing that tradition with her own children.
"I’ve stayed with Vantage because it’s convenient and everyone’s always been super helpful. There’s even a new branch opening near our house, which will make things even easier!"
Through life’s big moments—college, marriage, buying a home—Vantage has been there. "Right after our wedding, we were rushing to open a joint account and buy a house during the pandemic. Vantage made it simple. They sent everything by email, explained every step, and even helped with all the weirdly addressed wedding checks!"
She’s also opened accounts for her son and her newborn daughter, Genevieve—our first gen beta member. "I brought in their birthday and baptism money, and the team handled the rest. It was fast and stress-free. Two gentlemen at the Ellisville branch were especially helpful."
With everything from savings to CDs in one place, Michaela says Vantage gives her peace of mind. "The mobile app is so easy, and when we go into a branch, it’s always quick—which is a must when you have young kids!"
What does Michaela hope her children learn through being members?
"I want them to understand the value of community, responsibility, and saving. Credit unions teach that small, consistent steps lead to long-term stability. I hope they grow up knowing that doing what’s right matters more than doing what’s easy."
For Michaela, Vantage Credit Union has been more than a financial partner—it’s been part of the family. From her mother’s first account in 1981 to opening savings accounts for her own kids, three generations have trusted Vantage through life’s biggest moments. And with each new milestone, that tradition only grows stronger. The legacy continues—and the future looks brighter than ever.
