Our Roots Are Local—So Is Our Outreach!

Vantage staff has fun while making a difference!

On February 11, 2020, the energy in the room was palpable, as employees from Vantage gave an evening to volunteer at the St. Louis Area Foodbank. We packed over 276 cases which will be distributed to local foodbanks and pantries around the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area. In a mere three hours, we sorted over 7,728 pounds of donations—nearly four tons of cleaning and beauty supplies!

Vantage staff sang along to eighties music, belting their lungs out as they sorted donations. Our CEO broke down and recycled old boxes, while the manager from investment services sorted cleaning supplies. Staff from retail and central records created new boxes, handing them to a large group of employees from all corners of the credit union who packed the crates with donations. It was all hands on deck—and all smiles, joy, and laughter.

Starting the year by doing good: Food drive and donations!

Since the start of the year often finds the shelves of food banks and pantries empty, Vantage hosted a food and donation drive during the month of January. Because of the generous donations of our members and staff, we collected over 1,444 pounds of canned and dry goods. Those donations will feed 1,179 people.

In addition to the pantry donations, our staff and members raised $1,326.46 to help the St. Louis Area Foodbank. This money was raised via donations from members and staff, as well as from a “dress down” day that the credit union hosted. That equates to approximately 5,255 meals for those in need in our community!

The evening of packing and laughing reveals something fundamental about the character of our credit union—it’s not what we did, it’s who we are.
